good design is a doorway into human potential; both beautiful and functional spaces
make life worth living.

As we come into the second half of life, we arrive with a richness of experience that can support, delight, and inspire the way we live and interact with our surroundings. My mission is to craft environments that nurture and elevate our human experience at every age.

This mission is deeply personal for me. Aside from design studies, and decades as a movement and somatic educator, the greatest influence has been my 99-year-old mother, who still lives independently. Navigating the challenge of helping her remain engaged and aesthetically inspired has been far from perfect; I’ve seen firsthand how what society offers “the elderly” is often sub-par, institutional, and impossibly expensive. It has been a humbling education—one that has forced me to rethink my own plans for life after 50, and perhaps yours as well.
Join me on Substack as I share our story and look at how we can weave the textures of nature and the light of a well-designed life into the places we call home, ensuring they grow right along with us."
My Approach

Embodied Design &
Aesthetically driven Universal Design
I move beyond the cold functionality of traditional Universal Design (UD). My philosophy of Embodied Design focuses on creating an external environment that supports the internal one. This includes optimizing ambient systems like air quality and the biophilic connection (bringing the outdoors indoors). We don't just reduce friction; we value proportionate friction in design, creating places that support and inspire us.
The Alexander Pattern Advantage
I utilize the timeless, human-centered principles of Christopher Alexander’s Pattern Language to diagnose the root causes of spatial and emotional friction. This methodology ensures we deliver solutions that result in homes with palpable high aesthetics, natural flow, and a deeply felt sense of comfort and belonging.
Illumination as Wellbeing
I treat Lighting as a critical design element that dictates mood, supports cognitive function, and enhances the luxurious texture of materials. Strategic architectural lighting is the invisible system designed to enhance diurnal rhythms, support cognitive function through targeted visibility, and maximize textural and visual aesthetics—the essence of dignified living. This unique combination guarantees a beautiful home that supports your body, nourishes your spirit, and honors your style for decades to come.
